I'm begging you for mercy...oh won't you release me?

Penang was great and awesome... but I'm just a lil too lazy to blog bout it after the huge post-trip photo comment hype in Facebook. That will suffice :)

On a side note, something triggered my mood to blog.

This vid.. :
(watch it to understand this blog entry)

To those who're not familiar, that's Joel Houston frm HillsongUnited band on the i-heart revolution movement. What he said, and the message of the vid, rings through my head.

"Who are we to judge the alcholic, the prostitutes and the criminals, as if we're any better"...

-what Joel questioned resounds the words Joshua asked us during Mercy Project. It has been some months since Mercy Project was held, and honestly, have our perspective towards these groups of people changed? What are we doing to help the needy? Do we pity and symphatize with them just for a moment, and then walk away or switch channels like the vid shows.. Or do we only resolve to saying a sentence of prayer for them, and then the issue never reoccurs in our minds for d entire day, week...or even at all?

It got me thinking that how often we turn our backs on the blind person or the old lady who comes to the coffeeshop, begging for a little mercy from us. We see them as scams, and tell them we're poor students, while we're sitting away enjoying our expensive meals. (I'm guilty of that all the time..honestly) What if they're really in need?

as quoted in the vid..

"Is it fair for us to walk past the homeless man and give him nothing, in assumption he'll spend it on booze or cigarettes, or suggest he should get a job"

It may not be braving oneself, to go feed the homeless as what we did in Mercy Project.. Or going to the shabby streets and lorongs to see who needs help. It can just start with the people around you. It could be that coffee shop old lady, the pasar malam guy on the floor, even a neighbour who needs help.

However, I'm not suggesting you to give ur money freeely away...wisdom is still necessary ;)

I like what Joshua posted in his blog awhile ago, as a reminder to the Mercy Project.http://j-o-s-h.blogspot.com/2009/02/mercy-project.html. Sometimes, just a smile to a person whom we usually ignore, may make a huge difference in his or her life =)

Besides, I realized I haven't blogged bout the Mercy Project. As a reminder, here's a vid done by Lester on it..

YPF Mercy Project from Lester Wong on Vimeo.

It all falls back to one question - What are we doing about it?

"For us to do anymore, it's gonna cost us something"... are we willing to pay the price..?

Food for thought...

What a weeeekk...=)

It has been a crazy week full of activities and events..

First of all, finals is over and done with..hooray!! Thank God it didn't blackout on my final paper...though there was a lil lion dance disturbance in the beginning, which ended fortunately, when we were supposed to start writing.

Then there was the Combined Cheras Churches Prayer Meeting held in our church on Fri night. Was d 1st time we held such a big event...and my 1st time backup-ing in Mandarin! Thank God for Shu Yi for helping in that area xD It was great to see the whole of Cheras united in prayer for our place and our country. Eye-opening experience =)

Right after that, I went to Tirzah's house to join the girls for the CZ sleepover. We played twister and even got to composed a song for Matthew's farewell! =D The next day we went to FRIM, with a convoy led by Kui Ling, who successfully got us there despite the massive batu caves jam =P (salute salute!)

On the same day itself, we finally launched the Matthew (MPP) sabo plan! And well, the plan nearly didn't work out when he didn't want to come for the so called "Seafood Dinner" belanjaed by
Alvin.. but after some persuasion he finally did comeee.. anddd thennn...I shall let d pics depict all that happened la =P

5) Matthew (MPP)'s Sabo+Farewell >:)

First there was foood prepared n bought by the Tangs, then a vid presentation..and song presentation.. so it was pretty unassuming that a sabo lies behind all these..

And now, we see d different expressions of Mr. Matthew Sek:

Matthew, in d comfort of friends. Listening to d song we prepared for him. Smiling.

Matthew, in d comfort of friends (0r foes? =P). Awaiting the bash. Still smiling.

Matthew, in d company of foes. Grimacing.

Matthew surrounded by seafood (rmbr d con seafood plan ? there's sotong too..somewhere under his clothes =P). Laughing.

And of cuz, we didn't leave the poor fella there... we cleaned him up...and gave him fresh new clothes to wear..

Matthew, cleaned and loosed. Smiling again. (u jz have to look beyond d smile). This time evilly on Alvin...d self=proclaimed King of Sabo.

And now some vidss...=)

having lotsa fun doing d MPP song

~sry matthew, d "nan teng" part not intentional.. ur full doesn't rhyme with d song xp

(MPP is Matthew's strange nickname.. apparently it stands for Cow + Chicken..hmmm..)

Performing "The Moo Pok Pok Song"

We will miss u Matthew!! cya soon soonn...

All I can say is this weeek has been wonderful. Nothing better to start off a 2 week holiday ;)

Next, I will be off to Penang this Friday! Can't wait~!! =D

~Where d this people come frommm?!!?!!??

Ohh...I'm super excited bout my new discoveries till I forgot to mention that there was a blackout during finals today. Yea, super potong stim. Cuz d lecturers then opened d window to a whole new world of noise pollution - construction workers hammering and banging all d way. Well, thank God for making me immune to d sounds and for bringing d lights  back an hour later.  1st paper completo well, PTL  =)

O Cina New Year How I Love U

1 Week of CNY treats and activities has caused my happiness level to rise to the max..=)

It was fun reuniting with people I've not seen for some time.. and spending more time with others that have been around. It was indeed a good whole week, and I've never felt socially satisfied before in my entire life =p

Though its still offically CNY..we business students will have to scrap that mood as FINALS starts tomorrow!! *screams in horror*

And as much as I want to  blog bout the whole week, I shall for now reassume my role as a good student and start the marathon clock ticking (with lotsa coffee and tea!). At the mean time, keep a look out for Wei-Li's site for CNY pics..as I submerge beneath printed notes and laptop slides...

TAMBAH MINYAK BUSINESS PEOPLE!!! =)
